Peace on a Fence Line

Stacked Rocks on Fenceline

There’s something peaceful about stacked rocks. In a recent journey I stumbled across these delicately placed on a fence line. I wondered who put them there. I wondered what spoke to that person. Then I thanked them because whether it was intended or not, it brought me a moment of stillness and filled me with appreciation. It’s been an interesting 2021 so far to say the least. We must look for opportunities, like these stacked rocks, to find appreciation and stillness.

Where do you find stillness? What actions do you express appreciation? What can you do to bring stillness?

“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
